In a music video there is often a star who's image is supposed to develop through-out the video, sometimes its a group of people, or the visuals of a music video draw the audience to take sides with the character, this is also known is preferred reading of a media text.
So when looking at the narrative of the video, you look to see first, who the main character or star person of the video is and if they are the protagonist or antagonist. Also things such as the genre should be taken into account, the gender of the star person and understanding the narrative.

Is the star image consistent in the image and have they done anything similar in any of their other videos.
The type of shots used to show expressions, emotions and body language. any visual motifs that have become consistent with the star person.
